Bereits mit zwanzig Jahren wurde Stefan Schilli Solo-Oboist im Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Er ist Gewinner zahlreicher internationaler Preise und Wettbewerbe, darunter des Brüder Busch-Preises, des Deutschen Musikwettbewerbs des Wettbewerbs Prager Frühling sowie 1996 des ARD-Wettbewerbs. Als Solist musiziert er mit namhaften Orchestern und Dirigenten wie Lorin Maazel, Mariss Jansons, Sir Colin Davis, Reinhard Goebel, Christopher Hogwood, Franz Welser-Möst, Dennis Russell-Davies. Er war Gast renommierter Festspiele wie dem Edinburgh-Festival, dem Bath-Festival oder dem Festival Pablo Casals in Südfrankreich.
Seit 2004 ist Stefan Schilli Professor am Mozarteum in Salzburg und darüber hinaus gefragter Gastdozent an der Escuela Reina Sofia in Madrid, der Sibelius-Akademie in Helsinki oder der McGill University in Montreal.
Unzählige CD- und Fernsehaufnahmen dokumentieren sein breitgefächertes Schaffen.
Stefan Schilli widmet sich seit vielen Jahren besonders dem Spiel historischer Oboeninstrumente. Er ist Gründungsmitglied des Barockensembles L‘Accademia Giocosa, das für die Aufnahme unbekannter Instrumentalwerke Georg Philipp Telemanns einen Diapason d‘or erhielt. Letzterer zählt zu den bedeutendsten unabhängigen Schallplattenpreisen.
At the age of twenty, Stefan Schilli became principal oboist in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has won numerous international prizes and competitions, including the Brüder Busch Prize, the German Music Competition of the Prague Spring Competition as well as the ARD Competition in 1996. As a soloist he performs with renowned orchestras and conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Mariss Jansons, Sir Colin Davis,Reinhard Goebel, Christopher Hogwood, Franz Welser-Möst, Dennis Russell-Davies. He has been a guest at renowned festivals such as the Edinburgh Festival, the Bath Festival or the Festival Pablo Casals in the South of France.
Since 2004, Stefan Schilli has been a professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He is a sought-after lecturer at the Escuela Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki or McGill University in Montreal.
Countless CD and television recordings document his wide-ranging creative output.
For many years Stefan Schilli has devoted himself to playing historical oboe instruments. He is a founding member of the baroque ensemble L'Accademia Giocosa, which received a Diapason d'or for the recording of unknown instrumental works by Georg Philipp Telemann.The Diapason d'or is one of the most important independent recording prizes.
